Paper for Peace

Sadako Sasaki was just two years old when an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. Years later the little girl was diagnosed with leukemia as a side effect of the radiation.

Although Sadako would eventually succumb to the sickness, she made a powerful statement with her young life.

As the story goes, Sadako began folding 1,000 origami cranes. A Japanese legend says doing so will mean any wish would be granted. But instead of wishing for her health, this selfless little girl was wishing for world peace.

Origami Personal Checks from CheckAdvantage are a colorful celebration of an incredible Japanese tradition, as well as a tribute to a child with an amazing heart.
