A Little Background...

To get the story behind this unique set of personal checks - we need to take you on a trip aboard the S.S. Badger. That's the largest car ferry on Lake Michigan, and the only coal-fired steamship still operating in the country.

The S.S. Badger started serving travelers in the early 1950s, and a renovated version still makes trips across the Great Lake today.

An old lighted panel board on the ferry caught the eye of one of our talented designers & photographers. It was once used to keep track of occupants in the ship's private staterooms.
