Here's a shout-out to Alley Cat Advocates of Louisville, Kentucky. It's a group of volunteers who round up homeless cats, take them to participating veterinarians for spaying/neutering, then release the kitties back into their neighborhoods once they've healed.

We salute you for your good work, and we're glad to know that communities across the country are setting up similar programs. It's a terrific way to reduce the number of strays while giving those who are still out there a better quality of life -- especially the females!
